“By our reckoning, the Pac12 will record a 8-1 record in the nine bowl games”
Pigskin returns with a flurry of bowlcentric musings, led by the Oregon/Texas Alamo appearance. Consider these facts: UO QB Marcus Mariota produced better stats than any of the Heisman candidates…his gimpy right lleg gave a so-so Arizona eleven a win…Stanford has the nation’s best college defense. We expect Texas to fall before the Quackers and give ol’ Mack Brown an inglorious final game of his career. We see no clear favorite jn the Hawaii Bowl, but expect the Idahoans may give their coach Chris Petersen an honorable sendoff before he becomes the Husky leader (he’s already come up with two gems for his 2014 UW squad, both decommitting from USC abd UCLA
Washington State has earned an appearance in the New Mexico bowl on 12/22 and USC should have no trouble on that same date with Fresno State in the Las Vegas bowl. We expect the Cougs to dominate Colorado State. In other Pac12 bowl adventures, we expect Oregon State to beat Boston College 12/24 in the Hawaii bowl; Washington should easily outdistance BYU in San Francisco’s 12/27 Fight Hunger matchup.
Arizona State will celebrate 12/30 by whipping Texas Tech in San Diego’s Holiday bowl; Arizona can outrun Boston College 12/31 in Shreveport’s Independence bowl;; UCLA shouldn’t work up a sweat whipping Texas Tech in 12/31’s El Paso Sun bowl; Arizona can outrun Boston College on that date in Shreveport’s Independence bowl;l; Stanford should outmuscle Michigan State in the Rose bowl. Will the SEC”s Auburn overpower Florida State for the national title on 1/6/54 in the Rose Bowl? We think the Tigers will edge out a victor in a rather dull defensive struggle.
By our reckoning, the Pac12 will record a 8-1 record in the nine bowl games above. That may get the attention of scribes to our east who seldom see our heroes in regular season action due to the time warp
