category, either what was there is now on the current
cover, or we didn't run across anything of unusual

FIGHT TURNS UGLY
Your paycheck
deduction for your Social Security Account is a
tax? It used to be called SSI, or Social
Security Insurance. When did it become a
tax? You say, "What's the difference?"
Well, if it's a tax, then it isn't your money.
It's a government handout, like welfare. If it's
a tax, you don't have a personal Social Security
savings account. The money from payroll
"taxes" goes into the General Federal Revenue
account. The government can spend it on anything it
likes -- give it to Uganda, if they like. It it
no longer "insurance" at that point. A
private "insurance' company could be sued for
not fulfilling this kind of contract. Hell, a
bank could be sued for not letting you withdraw the
money in your savings account. But, how do you
sue the government to get tax payments back?
If your Social Security "contribution" has become a
tax, then you no longer have a personal Social
Security "account." Now, your Social Security is an
'Entitlement." We're sorry to say it, but,
politics decides who gets entitlement money.The money
you are paying into your Social Security "Account" is
no longer yours. (LL)
