Joe Lieberman, on Meet the Press, on August 31st, 2003, said that Bill Clinton strengthened the military.  Let's see.  That would explain why during his (Clinton's) two terms, there was a mass exodus of trained soldiers, from the lowest ranks to the top staffs, that looked like people leaving the World Trade Center buildings after the airplanes hit. 

Did you know that Bill Clinton reduced the size of government?  I didn't either.  In fact, I still don't. In sixty-two years, I have never seen a Democrat do anything but the exact opposite of that, so when the Democrats and their lapdog media (ABC, the New York Times, etc.) tells me that a Democrat has done just that, it does not ring true.  But what I have been able to determine is that he dramatically reduced the size of part of our government -- our armed forces.  During his two terms, bases closed like banks after the Crash of '29.  Since bases are where they keep the full time soldiers, that means the number of Americans in full time uniform went down.  This seems to be backed up by the fact that all you hear about in the news from Iraq is that the soldiers we sent there are in the National Guard, and hadn't expected to be there so long.

We also heard and read in his own media that Bill Clinton shot off the last of the Tomahawk missiles during his anti-aspirin factory period.  If memory serves, he dropped some of them on Baghdad, as well.  Does anybody remember if Joe Liberman, Howard Dean or the liberal lapdog media complained about the civilian casualties at the time?  Did the Democrats demand the creation of committees to investigate the Clinton Administration's use of force against Saddam Hussein's capitol? 

I am also curious if that made any Moslems angry. 

It would explain why Saddam joined with terrorists, and helped them plan the second attack that brought down those World Trade Center buildings.  By 911, George Bush II hadn't been in office long enough or done anything to Moslems to cause that. Besides, the Arabs who planned the second WTC attack were in America before Bush II was elected -- living here and planning the operation.  The only Bush they knew of was the first President Bush,  the one who had attacked -- are you ready for this? -- Saddam Hussein's forces in Kuwait in 1992.

It's fun, isn't it?  Like solving a mystery crime.  What was it the libs said after 911?  Bush failed to "connect the dots."  That was it.  Funny that they haven't connected the dots outlined above.  Missiles dropping on downtown Baghdad make great big dots.  Those dots connect 911 to Clinton.

For a liberal, Joe Lieberman isn't a bad guy, really.  If our choice is him or Howard "Fifth Column" Dean, the selection is easy.. Life is about clubs and mountain men.  If you are honest, and  belong to a club, sooner or later you will have to suffer pangs of conscience.  You will have to say or do something you don't feel right about to remain in good standing with the club.

But, Joe Lieberman has mountain man tendencies.  Unlike all of his fellow Democrats who also voted the money for the war, he refuses to hide or apologize for it. (Gephart, once an open supporter of his own vote, switched last week)  Lieberman sure as hell is no Howard Dean.  Which is why we cannot for the world understand why, on Meet the Press, today, he said that Bill Clinton strengthened America's military. Bill Clinton treated America's military the way Juanita Brodderik says he treated her, and Joe Lieberman, a senior U.S. Senator and former V.P. candidate who has intimate, in depth, knowledge of the situation, damn well knows it.  And, so, our quandry.  Lieberman refuses to back down on his support for getting rid of Saddam Hussein, yet looks America straight in the eye on Meet the Press and tells us an outright lie about our military.  Well, maybe a kind of outright lie.  In terms of raw manpower, the decline is irrefutable, but in terms of technological advancement (thanks to Reagan, Bush I, Newt Gingrich and Bush II) we have worldwide supremacy.

Who the hell is Lieberman?  The mountain man or the loyal member of the club?  I wonder if he knows, himself.
